As expected, the 2012 Bronner Brothers International Hair Show did not disappoint the large crowds  that flowed steadily through the Georgia World Congress Center. The hair styles this year were as exciting, and creative as ever. I have posted some photo’s from the event so please look around and see you at the next show this summer.

Atlanta’s Bronner Brothers Hair Show is one of the more interesting events happening twice yearly at the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC). As a photographer, Bronner brothers shows have a lot to offer as each show features hair models, celebrities and numerous photo challenges. The lighting in the GWCC is acceptable in most parts of the show floor and the use of flash is not always necessary but as a general rule, I prefer to use external flash for good illumination.

Featured at the festival were three days of free music on the stage featuring Julie Dexter, Omar Sosa, Kathleen Bertrand, Gregory Porter, Rio Negro, Ras Kofi, Donnie, The Chronicle, and Sandra Hall (sorry if I missed anyone). Jessica Care Moore (below left) and Malcolm Jamal Warner (below right) were on hand for a special tribute to tribute to Gil Scott Heron.

Over the Memorial Day weekend I had the opportunity to cover the 34th Annual Atlanta Jazz Festival which is held each year and it happens to be the longest running free jazz festival in the nation.  The Atlanta jazz festival culminates a month of jazz events in and around the city of Atlanta.

This years Atlanta Jazz Festival featured some of the finest jazz musicians  on the scene live on two stages in Midtown Atlanta’s Piedmont Park during the two day festival. Some of the notables on and Saturdays lineup consisted of The Maywe Jazz Ensemble, Audrey Shakir, The Warren Wolf Quintet, and The Myrna Clayton Experience, Oliver Santana &Ellison Jazz, and Regina Carter. Sundays lineup consisted of notables The Gerald Clayton Trio, Wild Rice, The Sean Jones Quintet, Tropical Breeze, RUA6, NEO4, and Ninety Miles. Looking forward to covering this events again next year.
